Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a ganglion cyst by the fingernail of my middle finger. It was getting big and I cut the skin and a big blob came out. Then a week later it came back, but smaller, and I removed it by penetrating the skin with a needle and got a little blob out and now it is back again. will it just keep reoccurring? It is not at all painful, just ugly.
Ganglion cysts are very common lumps within the hand and wrist that occur adjacent to joints or tendons.
Treatment can often be non-surgical. The use of splints and anti-inflammatory medication can be prescribed in order to decrease pain associated with activities.

Surgery involves removing the cyst along with a portion of the joint capsule or tendon sheath.
Surgical treatment is generally successful although cysts may recur. Your surgeon will discuss the best treatment options for you.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
